Weather

Tunisia enjoys a Mediterranean climate along the coast and a hotter, arid climate inland. The best time to visit is in spring (April to June) or autumn (September to early November), when temperatures are warm but not scorching. Summers can be very hot, especially in the southern desert regions, while winters are mild with the occasional rain.

Spoken Languages and Currency

Arabic is the official language, and French is widely spoken due to Tunisia’s colonial history. English is increasingly spoken in tourist areas, especially in hotels, restaurants and popular attractions. The local currency is the Tunisian Dinar (TND), and it’s best to have cash for markets and smaller shops, although cards are accepted in many hotels and larger stores.
