Foodie Feasts and Wine Escapes

If you plan your holidays around meals (and who doesn’t?), Italy is your spiritual home. From creamy risottos in the north to spicy pasta in the south, each region has its own delicious twist. Pair it with world-famous wines and you're in culinary heaven. Tuscany, Emilia-Romagna and Sicily are top spots for food lovers.

Lakeside Luxury and Scenic Serenity

Italy’s lakes are pure beauty. Lake Garda and Lake Como combine majestic mountains with glassy waters, elegant villas and flower-filled promenades. It’s where peaceful boat rides, alfresco lunches and luxurious relaxation come naturally.

Island Adventures and Coastal Escapes

For sun, sea and serious charm, Italy’s islands hit the mark. Sardinia is wild and rugged with Caribbean-style beaches, while Sicily mixes fiery volcanoes with rich culture and incredible food. Both promise adventure and tranquillity in equal measure.

Welcome to Italy—where every corner of the country feels like a living postcard. With breathtaking lakes, ancient ruins, romantic coastlines and food that’s out of this world, Italy is a place where life is best savoured slowly. Whether you're sipping espresso in a piazza or cruising across a glittering lake, the Italian magic is always switched on.

It Has More UNESCO World Heritage Sites Than Any Other Country

Italy is a treasure trove of history and art, with more UNESCO World Heritage Sites than anywhere else in the world—over 50! From ancient ruins to Renaissance masterpieces and entire historic towns, it’s like walking through an open-air museum everywhere you go.

It’s the Birthplace of Opera, Pizza and Leonardo da Vinci

Italy has shaped culture as we know it. Opera began here, pizza was born in Naples, and many of the world’s greatest thinkers, artists and architects called Italy home. Michelangelo, Galileo, and da Vinci all left their mark on this richly creative country.

The Italian Way of Life Is an Art in Itself

Italians are masters of living well. From the simple joy of a morning cappuccino to the evening passeggiata (a slow stroll before dinner), life here moves to a graceful rhythm. It’s about savouring moments, loving food, and putting passion into everything—even a plate of pasta.

Weather

Italy has a diverse climate, but in general, the best time to visit is between April and October. Spring (April–June) and autumn (September–October) are ideal for sightseeing and exploring—expect warm days, fewer crowds, and beautiful scenery. Summer (July–August) can be very hot, especially in the south, but it’s great for beach holidays and festivals. The lakes and coastal areas are especially gorgeous in summer, while the cities are best enjoyed in spring or autumn.

Spoken Languages and Currency

The official language is Italian, and while English is spoken in most tourist areas—especially in hotels, restaurants, and cities—it’s helpful (and appreciated) to learn a few basics like ciao, grazie, and per favore. Italians are warm and friendly, and always love when visitors make an effort. The currency is the Euro (€), and cards are widely accepted.
