Spoken Languages and Currency
The main language spoken is English, though you may see a few signs and place names in Jèrriais, a traditional Norman-French dialect that’s part of the island’s heritage. Jersey also has its own currency: the Jersey pound, which is pegged to the British pound sterling (£) and accepted interchangeably across the island. British coins and notes are widely used, but Jersey’s own notes make a great souvenir!
